Background The library is housed in the old Kingston schoolhouse. This is an inviting community facility, surrounded by tennis courts, recreation grounds and a children's playground.
Kingston Library is unique in that it is run by a single volunteer. George is there to assist with any of your information needs. Outside opening hours, please call or email Queenstown library for assistance.
Resources Although Kingston has a small core collection of resources, it is supported by larger libraries that send rotating collections on a regular basis. Come in and check the library catalogue for information on all resources available within our district. Purchasing recommendations will be taken into consideration.
Services Kingston Library is part of the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes shared Library service. Services, membership, borrowing and issuing policies are consistent across the CODC / QLDC Library District.
History The Kingston Library opened on 1 January 1999. The local community initiated the development of the service, and the need for the facility was recognised by Queenstown Library staff. The Queenstown Lakes District Council supported the venture by providing the facility and the library now has a growing collection of materials housed in the old school house. |
